Keyboard Shortcuts

Master Typilot's keyboard shortcuts for maximum productivity. All shortcuts can be customized in Settings.

Primary Shortcuts

These are the default shortcuts. You can change them in Settings to match your workflow.

Customizing Shortcuts

Typilot allows you to customize all keyboard shortcuts to avoid conflicts with other applications and match your preferences.

How to Customize

  1. Open Typilot and go to the Settings page
  2. Navigate to the Keyboard Settings section
  3. Click on any shortcut field you want to change
  4. Press your desired key combination
  5. Click "Save Changes" to apply

Shortcut Components

Activation Shortcut

This is the main shortcut that activates Typilot. It consists of two parts:

  • Modifier Key: Ctrl (Windows/Linux) or Cmd (macOS), Alt, or Shift
  • Main Key: Space or any letter (A-Z)

Send Key

After typing your command (like "gen: create a function"), press the send key to submit it to AI. Default is period (.), but you can change it to Enter, Tab, or any other key.

Cancel Key

Press this key to cancel an active AI request. Default is Esc, but you can customize it to any key you prefer.

Tips for Best Experience

  • Choose shortcuts that don't conflict with applications you use frequently
  • Ctrl+Space is a popular choice but may conflict with system search on some systems
  • Consider using Alt+Letter combinations for easy access
  • You can use the same modifier key for all shortcuts for consistency
